The Feasibility Assessment of Power System Dispatch with Carbon Tax Considerations

Traditional economic dispatch methods, which are used to minimize fuel costs, have become inadequate because they do not consider the environmental impact of emissions in optimization process. By taking into account horizon year load and carbon taxes, this paper examines operation power units a system. The objective function, including cost fuels is solved by modified particle swarm with time-varying acceleration coefficient (MPSO-TVAC) method under operational constraints. Based on different scenarios, influences various taxes for simulated analyzed. efficiency ability proposed MPSO-TVAC demonstrated using real 345KV Simulation results indicate that average annual CO2 0.36 kg/kwh, 0.41 0.44 kg/kwh 2012, 2017 2022, respectively. As capacity gas-fired plants was increased 2022 doubled or tripled compared 2012. Reasonable solutions provide practical flexible framework sectors perform feasibility assessments system dispatch. They can also be assist decision-makers reaching minimal goals policies desired emissions.
